2017 Curriculum

Religious Studies

  • The girls will have another chapter of the Bible to read on their own and either notebook or narrate.
Math

  • Life of Fred (we just finished Dogs and are moving on to Edgewood)

  • Timez Attack (they both use this daily to help them memorize their math facts)

Nature Study

We really limped along with nature study for years until I read the book Pocketful of Pinecones. It really helped me see how I could fit nature study into our school more regularly and smoothly. Location has helped! At our old place, we really couldn't go outside due to construction and privacy issues. Since we've moved, the girls can spend as much time outside as they like, and there's so much more to observe here! Between our chickens, our pond (full of frogs, tadpoles, water lilies, and water bugs), our neighbours' bee hives, the groundhogs living under our shed, or the many other little critters we have seen around here there's always something to watch!
